Some very basic mud guards. They'll keep the bulk of the water away from you, but they're certainly not the best. A good lightweight solution, better for road bikes with thinner tyres. They are a bit fiddly to fit, and your bike might not have the ability to support them, so check before you buy. Price isn't unreasonable though!

Firstly, I have been using this in rainy weather and it has been working well and stops me from getting wet. The mudguards themselves feel of good quality and were easy to install and fit very well onto my bike. They are held in place quite well and have stayed in place whenether I ride. All in all these mudgards were easy to install and they get the job done and prevent me from getting wet whilst riding on the road and outside.

If you continue to ride on metalled roads throughout the British winter or off-road on a Mountain Bike or Gravel Bike you are bound to encounter mud and water at some point. So many bikes these days don’t come complete with mudguards; or even mudguard eyelets to allow attachment. The solution is a system which straps onto the bike using zip ties or similar, which is exactly what this pair of Geila™ Bike Mudguards offered for review under the Amazon Vine programme are designed to do. Whilst they won’t offer the level of protection a full mudguard does, they offer some protection from the worst of the splashes which can soon dirty clothing and, probably more importantly, wear out bike components which can be expensive particularly if not rigorously cleaned after a filthy ride. They are wide enough to cover Mountain Bike tyres but I’m using them for my Gravel bike, which has similar width tyres. I practice however they will work with any wheel size between 24"-29" on any bike that has sufficient positions to zip tie. The two mudguards supplied are identical and feature ten holes for mounting, with four actually required for fixing security via the supplied zip ties, offering some choice of mounting points dependent upon the design and features of your steed. They are an extremely flexible combination of Polypropylene and carbon fibre, which if you travel off road you will know an ability to flex when encountering bumps is pretty essential. It’s hard to find fault for £7.99 and they do help keep the worst of the weather off.

The Geila bike mudguard comes in a pair (for the front and rear), together with 12 zip ties. They are 29x9cm and are suitable for bikes with a 24"-29" wheel diameter. However, the plastic is slightly flexible and the width can be narrowed to fit in the frame fork - which I had to do to get it to fit my bike. It is designed with lots of anchor points (10 holes) to allow you to find a way to fix the mudguard to your bike. Ultimately, I found it fairly easy to get the mudguards affixed in the end, but they don't come with any instructions so I had to check the reviews to figure it out. They are lightweight but quite wear resistant and pretty great in elasticity, particularly as this property was critical in deciding whether these mudguards were actually usable on my bike. Once installed, it looks pretty decent. They are slightly wonky but that's more due to my installation than anything else, and they work well enough! The mudguard blocks mud and puddle water well and greatly reduces the amount of dirt landing on my trousers in wet weather - it's been great given the rainy weather we've been having recently!
