This is a very cheap item and is secured using zip ties. However I believe that these mudguards will serve their purpose. As they are flexible, when strapped to the frame of the bike they clear the tyre easily, even on my sons new fatbike. They are small enough as to not dominate the bike and make it look silly and at the same time I believe that they're large enough to deflect the majority of water and mud flicked up from the tyres. I guess time will tell. If these do not function as I have assumed I will be editing my review with an update. I must note that the instructions are terrible, luckily you only have to secure these mudguards with zip ties so it is very straight forward.

I bought these to replace the front mudguard that I had bought earlier this year. They didn't fit quite right hence purchased theses ones after reading the reviews. These were much easier to install and I prefer these as they are smaller, less intrusive when cycling and less obvious yet work just as well as my previous larger mudguards. I have not installed the back one so cannot say how well it would work. I would definitely recommend these mudguards. For reference my bike is 26 inches and fit perfectly with space left over.
