I bought a pair of these to replace the almost identical factory fitted pair on my trusty Ammaco Madrid commuter bike, the front one having recently suffered from accident damage and subesquently bodged back together with epoxy resin, which although serviceable, looked pretty grim. They took me less than 45 minutes to fit using basic hand tools (crosshead screwdriver, combination pliers, 8mm ring spanner, 1/4 drive socket set), happily re-using the original fixings (the ones that came with them will go in my 'bits' box for now), and they are a legitmate replacement for the originals. What's more, at the price they are currently on offer for (£16.97 as of 23/11/24). they represent extremely good value.

I purchased these mudguards towards the end of October with hopes of fight off the mud and dirt during my daily commute to work. Installation was relatively straightforward, although the lengthy metal bars proved to be cumbersome and obstructive during the process. Despite my commute primarily consisting of flat, paved roads, I was dismayed to find that the rear mudguard snapped in half after a mere five months of use. In light of this disappointing experience, I cannot recommend these mudguards. As a commuter who relies heavily on bike accessories for practicality and longevity, I will be seeking alternative options that offer superior durability and longevity.

I needed some mudguards and after scanning other suppliers like Halfords, Wilcos etc, it looked like the best selection was on Amazon. I then researched prices and reviews and these came out on top. They arrived the next day very well packaged and supplied everything needed to fit them. Fitting was dead easy despite some reviews saying they needed instructions. I found them straightforward and it took me about 15 minutes. What I liked was the clips are riveted to the mudguards which makes them more secure. Also, for the price, which was lower than many other brands, these are excellent. It would have been nice if the rear mudguard had a reflector but this was no big deal and I fitted one I had handy anyway. I’m very pleased with my purchase and the supplier and would definitely use them in future.

Looking at the photos in the review section was misleading. The two you can see at the top are not the same mudguards - look at the fixings at the end where they join the fender - adjustable both of them - these are not I used them on a 26 inch wheel with 33mm tyres just about did what I needed but owing to the lack of adjustment of the main strut it’s left the front slightly too high for my liking The instructions are on the advert - none come with the box but straightforward- just fiddling around for best fit Advice from me is to study the photos with your bike at the same time to make sure your eyelets for mounting correspond roughly to where you can secure the guards - I have a Carerra subway 2 hybrid - with some adjustments I think I will get away with them - Cheap for what they are though so wasn’t expecting anything special

With no instructions you'll need a bit of common sense and D.I.Y. mechanical experience and some tolerant patience to fit these (and if they don't fit your particular bike exactly, then include the ability to make a few modifications such as drill holes, adjust/extend brackets, etc. too.) After a few hours of interrupted (coffee breaks, other domestic matters) and unhurried attention ( numerous dry run trial fittings, measuring, modifications) I managed to get these to (a) fit, (b) clear the tyres/not rub, and (c) look "correct" with satisfactory results and most of my tolerance still intact. The review asks me to rate the sturdiness which I awarded 4/5 but I haven't really used the bike enough to properly judge this aspect, also 4/5 for ease of installation but I suspect many others would consider this a generous rating, and 4/5 for easy to remove which after all the effort of installing I have no desire to remove them but assume that given all the understanding gained by the installation it should be not too difficult to do so, and re-installation will likely be more straight-forward. Would I buy again? Hmmm, probably..........

These mudguards are quite wide. If your frame is tight over the back wheel you may have problems. Seem robust and probably OK if they fit.
