Once you get these installed they do perform the intended function of a mudguard, but there are a fair few things to consider before ordering this mudguard set for mountain bikes from Homoto. Firstly, the instruction leaflet provided is extremely lacking in detail – not so much a problem if you are quite handy with physical jobs but if you are not then may struggle to figure how to assemble and fit the rear or to fit the front, or both – hopefully the photos included with this review will help to show how to do for both. The plastic material used for the guards is quite thin comparted to other similar mudguard sets I have seen, and to what I have fitted to my MTB (I fitted these on my wife’s bike). As well as having thin plastic there are also things to note on the size and shape of both mudguards. For example, the rear mudguard is very long and protrudes from the back of MTB with 26” wheel (even if had high seat post and angled the bracket vertically would still be long), other is the front mudguard does not follow the curve of the wheel and instead points upwards with the very front being very high above the tire (per photos with review) - tried to address this by changing the fixing position / angle but couldn't, it is just the shape of the guard. All in all, at current selling price of £15 these will stop / reduce mud and rain splash, but for the reasons above you may want to consider if they are the right set for you.

This Homoto Mudguard set is great. I've got it for my 26" mountain bike but have tried it on a 700cc road bike and my kids 26" bike too and all work perfectly. The rear guard is simple to fit with a clam around the seatpost and it comes with a couple of shims for different sizes. The front guard slides up the fork and tightens with an expanding fitting. It's all plastic so you need to be careful not to overtighten in an effort to keep in place, but it does stay in place and is well designed to fit around the caliper brakes. I don't ride in rain if I can avoid it but do hate getting wet from spray and as I cycle with my kids am very conscious of what I kick up behind me on wet roads and I'm pleased with the performance of this. It helped stop me getting so wet and keeps the spray down. I had intended to have to hand in the garage to quickly pop onto whichever bike I was riding but at £15.99 I'll get some additional sets and leave them on.

Unfortunately only the front guard fit on my bike since the rod for my saddle was a tad bit too thin. I reached out to the seller to see if we can figure out something to fix it without me having to send it back and start my search for mudguards again. Responses were incredibly quick and friendly and I got a partial refund so I could invest and fix the issue myself. Now both mudguards fit perfectly, look amazing on the bike and are very trusty!

Este juego de guardabarros posiblemente no entusiasme a los practicantes de MTB un poco extremos, puesto que el peso que añaden a la bicicleta, y el tamaño un poco grande son lo opuesto a lo que buscan los entusiastas de la práctica deportiva, donde prima la reducción de peso e incluso algunos prefieren mancharse de barro antes que añadir peso innecesario. Es ideal para gente que haga uso urbano de bicicletas con rudeas de hasta 29 pulgadas, o uso tranquilo de la bicicleta de montaña. Mi caso es un poco diferente porque tengo una e-bike de suspensión doble y me encaja bastante bien, porque a mí el peso no me preocupa, y las posibilidades de montaje son suficientes para adaptarse a la geometría de suspensión doble. En la parte delantera, tenemos un guardabarros que se acopla al interior del tubo de la dirección, con un mecanismo de un tubo interno en dos piezas unidas en forma "de cuña" que al apretar el tornillo interno se desplaza uno sobre otro haciendo presión (algo parecido a un taco de pared). La verdad es que no me gusta mucho... es un poco grande y tengo miedo que me tropieze con los pies en alguna bajada revirada. No sé si lo montaré... Por otro lado, en la parte trasera tenemos un guardabarros en una sola pieza que va unido al cuadro con una especie de bieleta que a su vez forma parte de un mecanismo que abraza la tija del sillin o el tubo del cuadro por donde pasa la tija del sillín. Esta pieza es orientable y tiene un moleteado interno que hace que una vez apretado no se afloje, manteniendo la forma. En mi bici la bieleta de sujección se puede montar casi encima del motor, con lo que puedo sacar el guardabarros desde bastante abajo, aunque tendré que complementarlo con un guardabarros flexible sujeto a los tirantes inferiores. Trae unas instrucciones breves, pero si eres razonablemente bueno con la mecánica enseguida entiendes como funciona y lo podrás montar adaptandolo a tu bici.

Una cosa è certa: una volta montati difficilmente vi arriveranno schizzi di acqua o fango. Sono enormi, troppo ingombranti a mio avviso! L’anteriore si monta sotto lo stelo della forcella mediante vite a brugola (ci vuole un po’ di pazienza perché non è agevole), mentre il posteriore si aggancia allo stelo del sellino mediante morsa a sgancio rapido. Il posteriore quindi può essere velocemente regolato in altezza e in angolazione tramite vite di serraggio. La coppia è venduta a 17 euro. Un po’ ingombranti ed esteticamente bruttini ma, se badate alla sostanza (e quindi alla funzione principale), non rimarrete delusi.

Esthétiquement, les garde-boue sont assez mastoc. La partie arrière s'installe sur le tube de selle, avec un système d'attache rapide qui permet assez simplement (il faudra quand même dévisser un peu) de retirer le garde-boue et de le remettre. On règlera d'abord les deux articulations afin de le positionner correctement par rapport à la roue. Et mon conseil, ce serait de ne pas le mettre trop près : latéralement, on doit voir un espace entre la roue et les côtés du garde-boue, pour au moins une bonne raison : l'attache rapide , même en la serrant au maximum, n'est jamais assez serrée, et il y a toujours moyen de faire pivoter le garde-boue sur son axe. (Et donc éventuellement le garde-boue pourrait venir toucher la roue en roulant si pour une raison x ou y il bougeait un peu…) Et bien sûr, l'autre inconvénient de l'attache rapide, c'est qu'on peut facilement se faire voler le garde-boue. Globalement, je ne suis pas hyper fan…
